The Info. Tech. Division conducted a Computer Literacy Training for the Out of School Youth (OSY) in the First Congressional District of Iloilo. It was held last October 21 – 23, 2015 at Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) Miagao Campus. The said activity was attended by 62 OSY representing the seven municipalities of the district. It was spearheaded by Mrs. Lilanie N. Cubita, Extension Services Coordinator of the Info. Tech. Division together with the IT Faculty, IT Core Group and Council Officers.
The 3-day training comprised of these activities: Opening Program, Orientation, Training Proper, Assessment of Skills and Evaluation of the Training. Mr. Arsenio P. Montaño, Jr., Head, Office of the Extension Services Department in his Closing Remarks expressed that one of the main objectives of extending community services is to equip and extend free technical skills to underprivileged, unemployed and socially – disadvantaged individuals of the community to become self – reliant and good citizens of the country.
