AACCUP Evaluates ISAT U 8 Programs

In consonance to the quality education and effective implementation of the Curriculum and Operations offered by Iloilo Science and Technology University Miagao Campus, Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities of the Philippines (AACCUP) Inc. assessed the 8 programs submitted by the school and 10 areas for accreditation, November 9-11, 2015.

Bachelor of Secondary Education (Majors: English, TLE, Math, Social Studies, Biological Science and Filipino), Bachelor of Industrial Technology (Majors: Cosmetology, Welding and Fabrication Technological, Food Technology, Heating, Ventilating and RAC Technology and Fashion and Apparel Technology), Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Technology, Bachelor of Science in Automotive Technology, Bachelor of Science in Electrical Technology, Bachelor of Science in Electronics Technology, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Bachelor of Elementary Education were the eight programs presented where BSED undergone Level 3 Phase 1 Survey visit, BSHRT, BSIT, BSAT, BSELX, BSELT and BIT were submitted to Level 2 accreditation while BEED was in Level 1.

On the other hand, a total of 29 accreditors from AACCUP also evaluated 10 areas of the campus. Area 1: Vision, Mission, Goals and Objectives was accredited by Dr. Gilda G. Membrillos, Area 2: Faculty by Dr. Rosario M. Duazo, Area 3 by Curriculum and Instruction by Dr.Cecilia G. Salazar and Dr. Jean F. Puerto, Area 4: Support to Students by Dr. Evangeline Z. Hidalgo, Dr. Nerecio D. Lazarte and Prof. Donette Cleofe D. Aninon, Area 5: Research by Dr. Juanita Pinote, Dr. Alfredo C. Neri and Dr. Randy Gamboa, Area 6: Extension and Community Involvement by Dr. Juanita Pinote and Dr. Galileo Toledo, Area 7: Library by Prof. Benilda N. Yap and Prof. Neria E. Gomez, Area 8: Physical Plant by Dr. Enrique B. Montecalvo, Area 9: Laboratories by Mr. Ramelito R. Paler and Dr. Nestor T. Tellin and Area 10: Administration by Prof. Meldrid B. Miranda, Dr. Jocelle D. Del Rosario and Dr. Marichu D. Alalim.

The preparations for the aforementioned Areas were managed by the Faculty and Staff from different councils. While, the overall Chairpersons for the AACCUP Visitation was headed by Mrs. Sandra T. Examen, Officer-in-Charge, Office of the Campus Administrator and Miss Herminia N. Falsario, Chair, Institutional Accreditation Body.

The survey visit involved Data Gathering and Evaluation of Documents, Quick Ocular Visit to Campus, Classrooms, Laboratories, Library, Offices and Other Facilities, Interview with the Stakeholders, Class Observation, Visit to Extension Projects and Finalization of Individual and Team Reports.
