To promote Iloilo Science and Technology University internationally and for exchange students to embark on an international adventure obtaining another language and culture, the university initiates a Foreign Internship Program. “This is the first time the school is having an Internship Exchange Program so we really are anticipating it, it’s good opportunity for us and for the school to be the host of this program”, said Kristyl Mae Canos, Student Republic President. With their month long stay here, Ferdaus and Prasetyo entered University of the Philippines Visayas to
continue their study about Aquaculture where they strive to attain fresh goals. Also, they are learning a lot more than just Filipino lingo but they also spoke about the cultural and educational difference between Indonesia and Philippines.
“In Indonesia, you can’t enter college when you reached the age 22 but here in the Philippines it’s different”, Ferdaus said. Also, ISAT U sent out two students in the person of Stephen Geco and JR Elarmo, Bachelor of Industrial Technology major in Food Technology in Indonesia. “In line with this, ISAT U is looking forward for more exchange students coming from the different countries in the future”, Canos added.
