In our third year at ISAT U, Section Bโs Information Technology students came together to form Team Baskog. We were just a group of friends trying to make it through coding assignments, projects, and the pressure of looming thesis deadlines. Yet, amidst all the stress, we made time for each otherโwhether it was grabbing a meal, watching movies, or simply hanging out. These moments outside the classroom became the foundation of our bond, one that would carry us through the toughest times.
We truly came alive during school events, like the Christmas lantern-making competition. It wasnโt just about the final product for usโit was about the joy in the process: the planning, building, and laughing together. IT Day was another highlight, where we threw ourselves into everything from the dance parade to cheers and yells. It wasnโt about winningโit was about standing together as a team and representing Section B with pride.
When we reached our fourth year, the focus shifted to the thesis. But instead of working in isolation, we stayed in one house where our whole section could come together to work late nights. Those long hours werenโt just about finishing our thesisโthey were about collaborating, problem-solving, and sharing the load. The house became our sanctuary, a place where we werenโt just creating a project, but strengthening the bonds weโd built over the years.
Of course, we wouldnโt have made it through without the support of our professors. Dr. Remiaโs guidance helped us navigate tricky research, while Sir Jasonโs insights kept us on track. Dr. Lanieโs strict deadlines pushed us to work harder, but it was Sir Selmar, our fourth-year adviser, who truly anchored us. His calm, steady advice kept us focused through the chaos, and he reminded us that we could do it, even when things seemed impossible.
Like any group, we faced challengesโdisagreements, stress, moments of frustration. But the strength of Team Baskog was in how we communicated and resolved those conflicts. We learned to understand each other, to listen, and to respect each otherโs differences. We showed the lower years that being truly Baskog wasnโt about being perfectโit was about sticking together, facing challenges head-on, and growing as individuals and as a team.
When graduation day came, we had earned more than just accoladesโBest Thesis, Best Programmer, and Leadership Awards. But what we truly took away was the growth we had experienced together. We had become more than a team; we were a family. To the new students at ISAT U, Team Baskog serves as a reminder: success isnโt about trophies or gradesโitโs about unity, resilience, and the memories you create with those who help you be your best. Together, we proved that with teamwork, anything is possible.
