Dr. Muyong joins AACCUP elite team of Institutional Accreditors

Dr. Raul F. Muyong, Campus Administrator of SIPC-WVCST Miagao Campus joined the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP)’s elite team of Institutional Accreditors that conducted the First Institutional Survey visit to Visayas State University (VSU) in Baybay, Leyte on November 21-26, 2010.

Other members of the Institutional Survey Team were Dr. Serafin Ngohayon, President, Ifugao State University, Dr. Ricardo Rotoras, President, Midanao University of Science and Technology, Dr. Danilo Hilario, Vice President for Planning, Research and Extension, Bulacan State University, Dr. Marcelo Roguel, retired President, Nueva Viscaya State University, Dr. Ma. Teresa S.J. Valdez, Dean College of Education, Tarlac College of Agriculture, Dr. Brigida Roscum, Vice Chancellor, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology, Dr. Mario Suba, Director, University Accreditation Center, Central Luzon State University, Dr. Rosana Grace Belo, Director of Instruction, West Visayas State University, Mrs. Aurora Casuga, Director for Finance, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, Dr. Nilo Colinares and Prof. Marina Quesada, Consultants, AACCUP and Dr. Manuel Corpus, Executive Director, AACCUP.

The Institutional Survey visit to Visayas State University is the first among the State Colleges and Universities in the Philippines. This was conducted to assess the university’s level of maturity and capability in providing quality education to students. During the visit, the University was evaluated on the following areas: 1. Governance and Management; 2. Teaching, Learning and Evaluation; 3. Faculty and Staff; 4. Research; 5. Extension, Consultancy and Linkages; 6. Student Support; 7. Infrastructure and Learning Resources; 8. Financial Generation and Resources; and 9. Healthy Practices.

As an institutional accreditor, Dr. Muyong was assigned to area 7, Infrastructure and Learning Resources. His learning experiences during the survey visit would serve as an input to the College that is also preparing for the program accreditation next year.
